Lion Coin Necklace - Courage, Strength & Wisdom

The Lion is a symbol of courage, strength, protection and wisdom. The original Greek coin dates to 305-290 BC. Minted in the city of Velia in Lucania which is now Southern Italy (Paestum). A striking depiction of a walking lion on the front, and Athena wearing a winged, crested helmet on the reverse. Jewelry is a replica cast from an original from my personal collection of ancient coins.

 

This Ancient Greek sterling silver lion coin is adorned with a champagne diamond set in gold, 18k gold balls and a gold bail. 

The 18" chain is a mix of 14k gold links and sterling silver links.
